ALL DATA-BEARING MEDIA COVERED

From individual hard drives to full server estates, every device is processed to the appropriate standard with a verified certificate issued on completion.

HARD DRIVES (HDD)

SATA, SAS, and IDE hard disk drives of all capacities and manufacturers. Overwrite erasure applied to NIST 800-88 standard. Drives returned sanitised or processed as WEEE.

SOLID STATE DRIVES (SSD)

SATA and PCIe SSDs including enterprise-grade storage. Secure Erase commands and overwrite methods applied. Certificates confirm full sanitisation of each unit.

NVMe / M.2 DRIVES

NVMe drives from laptops, workstations, and servers. Sanitisation via verified erasure tooling to NIST 800-88 or HMG IS5 standard depending on classification requirements.

LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS

Full device erasure covering internal drives and embedded storage. Verified at device level with serial numbers recorded. Suitable for bulk hardware refresh cycles.

SERVERS AND STORAGE ARRAYS

Rack servers, blade systems, NAS and SAN arrays. Each drive bay processed individually with a full erasure report. Suitable for data centre decommissioning projects.

TAPES AND REMOVABLE MEDIA

LTO tapes, DAT cartridges, USB drives, and SD cards. Physical destruction available for media that cannot be reliably sanitised by software methods.

WE WORK TO THE STANDARDS THAT MATTER

Our data erasure process follows internationally recognised sanitisation standards. The correct standard is applied based on device type and your compliance requirements.

NIST 800-88

The NIST Guidelines for Media Sanitization define Clear, Purge, and Destroy methods for all storage media. The industry default for commercial and enterprise data destruction across the UK and US.

Commercial Standard

HMG IS5 (ENHANCED)

The UK government information assurance standard for sanitising protectively marked material. Required by public sector bodies, NHS trusts, local authorities, and MOD supply chain organisations.

UK Government Standard

DoD 5220.22-M

The US Department of Defense sanitisation standard specifying multi-pass overwrite methods. Widely referenced in procurement contracts, financial services, and regulated industries requiring high-assurance erasure.

High-Assurance Standard

VERIFIED CERTIFICATES

Every device receives an individual destruction certificate recording the make, model, serial number, erasure standard applied, and date of processing. Suitable for GDPR records, ISO 27001 audits, and ESG reporting.

Simple, fully documented, and designed around your IT team’s timeline. We handle the logistics, erasure, and paperwork.

01: Enquiry

SAME-DAY QUOTE

Complete the form above or call 0330 223 7062. Tell us your device types, quantity, location, and standard required. We respond with a clear, itemised quote.

02: Collection

WE COME TO YOU

We collect from your site at a time that works for your team. Devices are catalogued and manifested on collection. Chain of custody documentation starts at your door.

03: Erasure

CERTIFIED SANITISATION

Every device is processed to the agreed standard, NIST 800-88, HMG IS5, or DoD 5220.22-M. Each erasure is verified and logged at the individual device and serial number level.

04: Certificates

FULL DOCUMENTATION

You receive individual device-level destruction certificates, a full erasure report, and Waste Transfer Notes. Ready for GDPR records, audits, and ISO 27001 evidence files.

COMPLIANT DATA DESTRUCTION, BUILT FOR BUSINESS

We are a licensed UK WEEE carrier and data destruction provider. Every job is documented, every device is certified, and nothing reaches landfill.

LICENSED AND WEEE REGISTERED

Waste Carrier Licence CBDU579018. Your duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act and WEEE Regulations is fully discharged on every collection, with no grey areas.

DEVICE-LEVEL CERTIFICATES

Individual certificates for every device processed, recording make, model, serial number, erasure standard applied, and date. Not a batch report: a certificate per device.

DRIVES RETURNED SANITISED

Wiped drives are returned to you or your nominated party in a sanitised, reusable condition. Supporting circular economy commitments and reducing hardware procurement costs.

NATIONWIDE COVERAGE

Collections across England, Wales, and Scotland. Multi-site estates and data centre decommissions handled under a single service agreement with consistent documentation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is certified data destruction?
Certified data destruction is the process of permanently removing data from storage media using a verified erasure method, and issuing a certificate confirming the sanitisation. Unlike simply deleting files or formatting a drive, certified erasure applies multiple overwrite passes to recognised standards such as NIST 800-88 or HMG IS5, making data recovery impossible. Each certificate records the device details, standard applied, and date of processing.
What is the difference between NIST 800-88 and HMG IS5?
NIST 800-88 is the US National Institute of Standards and Technology guideline for media sanitisation and is the most widely accepted commercial standard globally. HMG IS5 (Enhanced) is the UK government’s equivalent, developed by NCSC, and is required by public sector bodies, NHS organisations, and local authorities handling protectively marked data. We apply the appropriate standard based on your organisation type and requirements, or advise if you are unsure.
Can drives be reused after certified erasure?
Yes. NIST 800-88 compliant erasure sanitises the drive completely while leaving it fully functional. Drives processed through our service are returned in a working, sanitised condition and can be reissued, donated, or resold. This supports your circular economy and ESG commitments while reducing hardware procurement costs. If a drive fails during erasure, it is flagged in the report and processed as WEEE.
What documentation will I receive?
You receive an individual destruction certificate for every device processed, recording the make, model, serial number, erasure standard applied, number of passes, and verification result. You also receive a full erasure summary report and Waste Transfer Notes covering the collection. This documentation package is suitable for GDPR compliance records, ISO 27001 audits, and public sector procurement evidence files.
What is your minimum quantity?
We process from a single device upward. For smaller volumes we may offer a send-in option. For collections of 25 devices or more we provide an on-site collection service. Large estates of 500 devices or more are handled with dedicated logistics and a tailored service agreement. Contact us to discuss the most cost-effective option for your volume.
Do you handle SSDs and NVMe drives differently to HDDs?
Yes. SSDs and NVMe drives require different sanitisation methods to HDDs because their architecture means simple overwrite may not reach all memory cells. We apply the appropriate method for each media type: Secure Erase commands and verified overwrite techniques for SSDs, and standard overwrite methods for HDDs. NIST 800-88 defines specific approaches for each media type, and our process follows those definitions.
Are you suitable for public sector organisations?
Yes. We hold the appropriate licences, apply HMG IS5 Enhanced erasure on request, and provide the compliance documentation required by public sector procurement. We work with local authorities, NHS bodies, and educational institutions. Contact us to discuss framework agreements or scheduled destruction programmes for organisations with ongoing requirements.
